| Steve Kornele, pronounced (KOR-NEE-LEE) grew up in the small town of Mooreland, Oklahoma with only 1,000 residents. Luckily for him, Mooreland was also the home to some Great Cuemakers like Verl Horn as well as Dan, Jeff and Daniel Prather. Steve developed a major interest in cues and began spending most of his spare time in both of their shops in 1995. Not long after, he had completed his first personal cue loaded with Ivory including the: Joint, Points, Ferrules, Elaborate Decorative Rings, Ivory Inlays, and Buttcap. Over several years of experience helping in the 2 shops he learned every step in building High Quality Custom Cues. Soon, he developed a passion for Custom Ivory Cues. Steve went to College at OSU in Stillwater, Oklahoma and majored in Architecture. He would drive home every weekend to continue his studies on cuemaking especially in Verl's shop where he could learn the details on Ivory work in cues. This was the perfect place as Verl had been building cues for over 30 years and was Well Known for his Ivory Cues. After a few years of college, he decided that his true interest was cuemaking and that could not be learned in College. He moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas where he teamed up with Greg Willingham who had worked with Verl Horn for several years. They started the WW Cue Company and built custom cues for about a year and a half. After starting a family, Steve decided it was time to move back to his hometown of Mooreland, Oklahoma. Not long after this move he realized that his Love for building cues would never fade. He built a new shop and purchased all new equipment and started taking orders on his own Kornele Custom Cues. Steve still builds cues the way he was taught using time tested techniques that were perfected over many years of experience. All of his cues are built with Hand Milled short splice points. Most Kornele Cues have Ivory inlays or Hand Milled windows in the buttsleeve. High End Cues incorporate Ivory Ferrules, Ivory Joints, Ivory Dash Rings, Double Milled Ivory Points, Ivory Inlays and Ivory Buttcaps.
